GENERAL
INFORMATION (Press release)
The
security screen industry has been quick to take advantage of
innovative designs in labour saving machinery produced by Universal
Fluid Power.
The
latest machine is the Universal Lock Punch Model LP160-04K
The
Universal Lock Punch was initially developed from a need to
reduce the amount of effort needed to punch a set of holes
in security door frames to accommodate the locks.
Existing
manually operated punches are cumbersome and require a fair
amount of effort to operate. They are also prone to wear.
By
re-designing the method of operation we have produced a machine
that is easy to install; easy to use; and virtually maintenance
free.
The
power source is fast, clean, compressed air which produces
the force required to punch holes in seconds - with minuscule
effort.
The
press consists of a pneumatic power cylinder which is coupled
to two piercing and punching dies which will make a set of
holes to accommodate most standard lock sets.
The
first punch (46 x 16mm) is used to make a 160mm long slot
in the edge of the door frame by punching four holes in a
line.
This
slot then allows you to slide the frame over the die plate
and operate the second punch (137 x 19mm) for the lock plate
holes.
A
set of holes for the lock can be punched in about 30 seconds
and the press can be operated by anyone after just a few minutes
practice.
In
addition to the above, the small punch can be used for piercing
holes to accommodate support rollers on the bottom rail of
the door frame.
The
kit comes complete with the Lock Press, a guarded foot valve
and all the necessary airline and fittings. All you have to
do is mount the unit into a suitable bench, connect the air
supply and you are ready to begin.
The
machine is designed so that all dangerous parts are fully
shrouded during normal operation to avoid personal injury.
